Walnut Street Renovations Close to Completion

Project Overview

The historical Walnut street in Rawlins, Wyoming, is close to finalizing the renovations that started in July of 2021. This street is home to one of the main attractions of the city, the Carbon County Museum, and therefore its renovation must be done under precise time-management and efficient building terms to ensure visitors are able to access this popular destination.

Coffey’s Role

A large, publicly-funded project with a tight schedule, Walnut Street requires a Construction Engineering Manager to facilitate communication between contractors and city, mitigate plan discrepancies in the field and provide impartial third-party verification.

Coffey began its involvement on the Walnut Street reconstruction project as the design engineer (analyzing the design plans, giving building coordinates to subcontractors and addressing any questions the contractor might have regarding site plans), yet was then selected as the Construction Engineering Management team.

Construction Engineering Management is largely responsible for facilitating a project design into a construction deliverable in a timely manner.

As CEM on Walnut Street, Coffey performs on-site construction supervision critical to keeping the City of Rawlins informed and the construction processes maintaining efficiency.

With the help of a Construction Engineering Manager on duty, the renovations on Walnut Street remain on track and are scheduled to end in mid-October 2021.
